Which communication theory is most intriguing to you and why?

I think that the cultivation theory was most intriguing because it focuses on one of the most popular mediums that most people use in communications. The majority of people watch a considerable amount of television on a daily basis and this can affect the way we view our society and culture.  According to this theory, the images we see on television tend to shape our opinions of what is reality and what is not.  The news media is a big contributor to our misconceptions of what the real world is actually like. The amount of television and the types of programming we watch also plays a part in how altered our outlook on reality is.
