Early Motion Pictures

What did the early motion pictures do to change mass communication?
The early motion pictures created a market for the invention of many patents including the first projection machine and other motion picture equipment. Entertainment grew as more motion pictures were shown on a large number of theatre screens, especially when movies with sound replaced silent films. Teenagers and young adults flocked to see movies and represented a new cultural trend of social recreation.  Motion pictures also started the idea of fame and stardom of popular actors.  The growing stardom and technological advancements increased the production of films, including animated films, which is why the movie business continues to generate billions of dollars annually.
