Sunset Blvd.

The American Film Institute has ranked Sunset Blvd as one of the 100 best American films of the 20^th century. In your opinion, why is the film celebrated today?

I think the film Sunset Blvd is still highly celebrated today because it showed how actresses and actors were celebrated and admired during that time. The movie also incorporated suspense within a film that was meant to be a drama. It included most things that make a good story line: murder, fame, money, and infatuation. I believe that this movie was created more for entertainment than to reflect the social values during that time frame.  Most popular movies today are based on true stories or stories that can happen to everyday people.  This movie illustrated young writers who were not as popular, but were willing to do anything to jump start their career.
